This is a Trash Can!

When I was in Nashville about a month ago, I stopped in my tracks while walking down the street in the 12th St. neighborhood. These amazing wire-woven trash cans lined the sidewalks. I was blown away by their beauty and the intricacy and detail of the weaving. What an amazing functional art piece! After doing a bit of research and I have found this information via Mary Lucking about this community art project: As part of Nashville, Tennessee’s... Read More

Coffee Talk: Barista Parlor

Barista Parlor is brand new addition to the coffee scene in Nashville, and we were lucky to visit while we were there! Barista Parlor is among a new wave of coffee shops that feature multiple roasters and multiple brew methods handcrafted by-the-cup.  I ordered a cappuccino (espresso from counter culture) and to accompany, a delicious breakfast of belgian waffles. The space is a complete dream for any coffee enthusist. Coffee shops always seem... Read More

Shop Talk: imogene + willie

The store is located in a building that was once an old gas station and is curated like a museum. Arrangements and small installations of flea market finds and product work together harmoniously. I was in complete awe. imogene + willie is owned by Carrie and Matt Eddmenson, who have worked in the... Read More

Hatch ran a print shop in the town of Prescott, Wisconsin, {awesome!} where his two sons, Charles R. and Herbert H.... Read More

O.M. Eats: Jeni’s Ice Cream

While we were in Nashville, I made it a point to make a stop at Jeni’s Ice Creams. The ice cream is homemade using delicious, quality ingredients, and milk that is from grass fed cows. Can it get any better than that?  I had  a waffle cone with one scoop of whiskey-pecan with another with salted caramel. It was heaven. Also, I have to mention that the design and branding is fantastic. Jeni’s, please open a store in Chicago!    Photos... Read More
