Pit Stop in Louisville

Yesterday we started our Southbound Road Trip and made our first pit stop for lunch in Louisville, Kentucky. Louisville seems like such a cool city, just getting a “taste” was enough to know that a future visit might be in the cards… We ate lunch at Hillbilly Tea, a charming tea-cafe serving delicious locally sourced-homegrown southern cooking. Joe and I both ordered the Pork Pone which was pulled pork on corn pone (thin cornbread)... Read More

Southbound

This weekend Joe and I are going on a road trip!! We are heading southbound to Nashville. I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard lots of good things. I’m very excited to see that part of the country and take in all the good local eats and what Nashville has to offer. We are also visiting some friends near St. Louis, so I am also excited for that as well. I will blog and tweet along the way to share my adventures. Postcard source Design... Read More

The Road to the Keweenaw…

This past Friday, Joe and I made our winter snowboarding trip to Mount Bohemia in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It is an epic 10 hour drive from Chicago, but a beautiful one to say the least. Here are some snapshots from our drive…     Map image source Photos and Design © Orange Marigold  Read More

Day Trip: Sheboygan, WI

This past Monday I had the opportunity to ride along with my boyfriend to Sheboygan, WI for work. I brought my laptop to work on projects, but I also explored around the town. I grew up 30 minutes from Sheboygan, but really never explored much of the area. It is a cool little town! I found two awesome cafes/restaurants and browsed some thrift stores. One for the books! Field to Fork, what an amazing cafe- restaurant- juice bar- market. I will definitely... Read More

A Weekend At The Sleeping Bear Dunes

This past weekend we made the trek up to Empire, Michigan to camp at the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The trees were at their peak colors and the Indian Summer weather made it the perfect time to go on a camping adventure.  The Sleeping Bear dunes are one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The sand dunes are just incredible.   Photos and design by Orange Marigold  Read More
